Bible Verse Table Topper:

Just before Thanksgiving my cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer and over Christmas my mother wanted my help with sewing a special table topper for her.  My mother, a breast cancer survivor, wanted to send something to Jane to give her faith in time of need.

So, my mother and I went digging through her stash and came up with enough coordinating fabric for this scrappy table topper. We chose blues with greens, yellows, and browns to match her kitchen instead of pink for breast cancer.  The printed bible verse blocks were a little tricky to fussy cut.  The manufacture did not allow for much wiggle room.  I ended up making my border strips a bit longer than I needed and then cut to length.  A nice print with words of encouragement would work if you were unable to find the exact bible verse panel. Finished size is 45” x 45”.

There are so many “ribbon for a reason” colors that the possibilities for this topper are endless.  If you are unaware of the color you are needed/ wanting, there are many websites with a reference list.  Oh the power of Google.

Make one for a member of your family or for a friend.  You will need the following supplies:

Bible verse blocks are from the Bible Verse - Wise Saying Quilting Blocks Collection – 1 panel

1/4 yard of five to six coordinating prints

Center Missouri Puzzle block and 1st border – blue = 3/8 yard; yellow = 1/4 yard

3rd border – green = 1/4 yard

4th border cornerstones – cream print with blue marbling = 1/4 yard

5th border – green = 1/2 yard

Backing and binding – 2 7/8 yards
